GrowlFM Submission

In case you didn’t already know, my main hobby is producing electronic music! I also play classical piano and jazz guitar, but when producing music I tend to go on the EDM and bass-heavy side. I also enjoy sci-fi and cyberpunk fiction, so imagine my excitement when I learned that CD Project Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 was being used to host a song competition (winners of which would appear in a new radio channel within the game itself!).

After getting the parameters of the competition, I went straight to work! It had to be 2-3 minutes, any genre, any lyrics, as long as it was all original and didn’t use copyrighted material. I tend to like and make weird stuff, so I made something a little weird! I started with a hard latin-y four-on-flour bass track, and I transitioned it into a dark synth-pop with a trappy drop. I ended the song with a combination of the two elements (and frankly spent more on the last 15 seconds of the song with the weird bass and drums antics that you hear than on the rest of the song combined).
